If you own a property in Spain and are non-resident, without a Spanish income, you need to complete a 'modelo 210' tax declaration form each year and submit it to the Spanish tax office regardless of whether you rent out the property or not.
I provide a simple, economical way for you to do this. The fee per year for both forms on a jointly owned property is £50 total. If the property is in just one name the fee is £35.
You will need to have available the following information:
Your NIE Number
The Valor Catastral of the property
The Valor Catastral can be obtained from your IBI bill, which in the Alicante region comes from the SUMA office in the summer each year. In other regions it is the local town hall which sends out IBI bills. If you do not have an IBI bill, it may be that you do not yet have a Valor Catastral, so alternative calculations are made - please speak to me about this option.
